Remembering Leslie Cheung – A Hong Kong Icon

By Localiiz 1 April 2015
April 1 will always be a day of sorrow for Hong Kongers. It was 12 years ago today that Leslie Cheung, at the age of 46, committed suicide while battling depression. 'Gor Gor' (big brother) as he was called by locals, was and remains a Hong Kong icon from his popular starring roles on the big screen ('Farewell My Concubine', 'He's a Woman, She's a Man', 'Happy Together') to his timeless songs as a founding father of Cantopop. Today, fans pay their respect outside of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, the hotel where he leapt to his death. [masterslider id=68] As we remember Cheung in the Localiiz office, we played a video that always makes us smile. Let us know your favourite in the comments below.
