'Private' - 1960
Next Ho's pictures were all taken during the 1950s and 1960s, and form part of his two major series Hong Kong Yesterday and The Living Theatre. Most of the people seen in the photographs were caught candidly, with very few images posed. "During the 50s and 60s, it was a wonderful time. Life in Hong Kong then was new, fun, and full of discovery", Ho told Localiiz. With no formal photography training available at the time, Ho taught himself with a camera manual and experimentation as his only tools. Clearly an unconventional photographer, he is at his element in bad lighting, and says back lighting - perfectly executed in many of his shots - is his go-to technique.[button color="blue" size="medium" link="https://localiiz.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=c2964a434922598f5d8ee53ff&id=07d327a2e8" icon="" target="true"]Subscribe to receive our weekly newsletter[/button]
