In a city that’s overflowing with happy hours, the novelty of a small discount can start to wear pretty thin. To save you the disappointment, we’ve done our homework to find you the cheapest and most cheerful deals around town that will definitely put a smile on your face.
From bargain cocktails to buy-one-get-one-frees and all-you-can-drink (and eat, if you’re lucky), we’ve got you covered. From Wan Chai to Sai Ying Pun and beyond, here are the best places to go for happy hours, discounted drinks, and food all throughout the week.
Peel Street, best street. Shady Acres has been the talk of the town since its opening—and for good reason. Its food is top-notch and reasonably priced, and the selection of wines and cocktails flow as merrily as the conversations.
Daily happy hour starts from 5 pm to 7 pm, with selected wine and bubbles by the glass and summery cocktails on offer, including Suntory draft beer, Gin Rickey, and a daily hard slushie made with seasonal fruits. If you’re feeling peckish, you can start the night with a spread of olives, homemade meatballs, and jumbo popcorn shrimp for sharing.
Shady Acres, 46 Peel Street, Central
If you’re looking for wallet-friendly drinks and bites paired with immaculate vibes, head over to Honky Tonks Tavern. On offer are a range of house spirits and mixers, select wines by the glass, and draught lager. Cocktail lovers can cool off in the summer heat with the Tavern’s hard slushie or pineapple cider and snack on some pizza slices while you’re at it. Happy hour starts from 5 pm to 7 pm every day, with an unmissable all-day happy hour deal available every Wednesday.
Honky Tonks Tavern, Man Hing Lane, Central
You can always count on the Pontiac girls to whip up a storm in a glass for a bargain buck. Head to Ponty Hour (which is actually three hours) every day from 4 pm until 7 pm and choose from five quirky cocktails, house spirits, wine, beer, and cider. Cocktails include the Defender Daiquiri, the Hobnail (our favourite), the refreshing Heir and a Spare, and more. Scotch lovers will love the Hobnail, but if you’re more of a beer drinker, opt for a pilsner.

What better way to spend the afternoon than sipping on cocktails on a gorgeous terrace in the heart of Central? Head to Mr Wolf on Queen’s Road and take your pick of discount lychee martinis, espresso martinis, Aperol spritzes, as well as beer and wine. Premium cocktails include the signature wolf peachy bourbon, while premium wines are available by glass. Special nibbles are served adjacent during these hours, so don’t forget to pair your drinks with a bite. Available Monday to Saturday from 3 pm to 8 pm, the terrace happy hour at this bustling bar is fast becoming our favourite deal.

If you’re looking for a cosier spot, head over to Hugger Mugger and sample its all-new happy hour deal. Available daily from 5 pm to 8 pm, you can enjoy discounted prices on a selection of handpicked wines and bubbles by the glass, beer, spirits and mixers, and cocktails, including the refreshing and tangy Green Mule and the citrusy and floral Butter Me Blossom!
Hugger Mugger, Basement, 43–55 Wyndham Street, Central
The well-frequented Central izakaya Yurakucho is introducing a one-of-a-kind happy hour experience to the city. The “Gado-shita” Hour transports patrons to the trendy underground hangouts found around Tokyo, with a selection of gado-shita-inspired drinks to pair. Highlights include the popular cocktail Sonic on Tap, blended with Kyoho grape, sencha tea, and gin. Other offerings include flavoured highballs, wines, prosecco, and house spirits. Available Monday to Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm, grab your friends and slip into this hidden den.

Happy hour deals at Quality Goods Club are perfect for large groups gatherings. Available from Wednesday to Saturday at 5 pm to 8 pm, share its Crystal Cocktail Towers—yes, it’s as impressive as it sounds—with friends and colleagues! If you’re chilling in smaller groups, the two-for-one deal on all house spirits, beers, and wines by the glass is not to be missed. Pair your drinks with some smashed burger sliders and enjoy these quality goods from the Club.

Take a break and head over to Majo for the Siesta Time happy hour! Available on weekdays from 4 pm to 7 pm, enjoy discounted prices on JJ Whitely & Tonic, a refreshing Rebujito made with sherry, lime, and fresh mint, and house-made sangria by the glass, which comes in red, white, and pink with rosé.

Bask in the afternoon sun at Maka Hiki with its Sunset Happy Hour, available on weekdays from 3 pm to 7 pm. Sip on house beers, select wines by the glass, spirits and mixers, and cocktails from the Tiki bar as you sit back and relax, or play it safe with a pina colada, mojito, or daiquiri. If you’re in the mood for something new, the Hong Kong special, Bikini Girl, blends tequila with lychee and rose purée, cranberry juice, and lychee syrup.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Central at Cotton Tree Terrace. Happy hours start from 5 pm to 9 pm daily, with a selection of draught beers available alongside a rotating BBQ menu and freshly baked pizzas. Sit back and relax with a pint at this cosy alfresco dining spot.
Over at Murray Lane, the new Pitcher Perfect promotion is perfect for cooling down in the summer heat with friends. Available during Murray Lane’s signature happy hours from 6 pm to 11 pm, newly blended cocktails showcase summer flavours through vibrant presentation in Tonga’s Passion, Soul Sense, Mai Tai, and Yeomans Punch.

For a taste of Italy, head to Stazione Novella after a hard day at work. This Florentine wine bar hosts happy hour from 3 pm to 7 pm every day and will have you end your day with a glass of red or white in hand, surrounded by pleasant company, which may include your dog if you choose to bring them along. Choose from a selection of Tuscan wines and nibble on some scrumptious bites like the formaggi misti for two.
Stazione Novella, 52–56 Staunton Street, Central
Before this sultry space turns into a nightclub, it dishes up a mean happy hour. Every Tuesday to Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm, order from a list of classic and signature cocktails, and tuck into a delectable selection of Spanish bites. Drinks include white and sparkling sangria with a hint of peach liqueur, Aperol spritz, and the classic Old Fashioned. Special cocktail options are available with an upgrade and include the likes of coffee-spiked cold-drip Negroni, the tropical Passiflora, and more. As for tapas, you can opt for Ibérico ham and cheese, padron pepper, empanadillas, bravas, pan con tomate, broken eggs with chorizo, and more. Make sure to check out the terrace to really get into the vibes.

We must confess that happy hour is rather essential to us, and fortunately, Holy Eats has deals for food and drink that go on all week long. Its “holy hours” are between 5 pm to 8 pm daily and feature a selection of beers, seltzers, house spirits, wines, and prosecco. The bar is bringing back its popular all-day happy hour deal on Wednesdays, be sure to pop by for a well-deserved midweek pick-me-up! Excuse us as we prostrate ourselves on the floor.

The Globe boasts a daily deal that lasts from 9 am to 7 pm. Its selection of beers is varied and constantly changing, with choices that range from beloved local brews to exciting options from all over the world. Also worth a try is the mouthwatering pub grub, featuring Scotch eggs and triple-cooked chips served with a side of garlic aioli. Kick back and relax amidst the comforting gastropub atmosphere that is just full of homely British sensibilities.

Want some fries with your beer? Or maybe some chicken wings? Then head to Fini’s from 6 pm to 8 pm on a weekday and feast on the signature wings and fries to your heart’s content as you drink as many Peroni beers as you desire within a two-hour time frame—clearly a winner for beer monsters who love a bit of chuck. But beware—Fini’s does not take reservations for the free-flow wings and fries and beer deal, so be sure to arrive early to guarantee you and your friends a spot.
With additional locations in Taipei and Bangkok, Draft Land serves high-quality and affordable cocktails on tap. Happy hours are from 3 pm to 8 pm daily. Draft Land serves over 40 draught cocktails on a rotational basis of 24 at a time, so be sure to stop by every now and then to check out all the different flavours! Highlights include A Study in Pink, fashioned from pink gin and citrus flavours, as well as the tea-based Oolong Tea Collins. Its well-seasoned seaweed fries are a highly addictive snack that’s perfect for sharing.

Enjoy Hong Kong’s sunset at Plume, a rooftop bar in the heart of Central. Its menu, designed by the team at two-Michelin-starred Écriture, features top wines and French nibbles that are perfect for an early evening treat. Happy hour is from 5 pm to 7 pm, Tuesday to Saturday, featuring a selection of cocktails and wines by the glass.
Keep a steady flow of alcohol and conversation going with a refreshing and summery Peach Bellini or piña colada, while select wines on the menu are available at a special price during happy hour, so don’t be afraid to give it a try. Accompany your drinks with some of Plume’s bar bites from the all-day bar menu, with decadent treats like homemade French fries with truffle mayo and burrata with cherry tomatoes.

The dining destination and cocktail bar Supergiant reopens with a brand-new selection of cocktails curated by award-winning mixologist Lorenzo Antinori, inspired by the tale of the moon goddess Chang’e. This series features rightfully celestial blends such as Fly Me to The Moon, the classic Negroni presented with a twist, and Jade Rabbit, a shiso-shaken mix with vodka and grapefruit soda.
Social Hours at Supergiant are from 4 pm to 7 pm daily, with house wines and spirits, sparkling teas, craft beers, kombuchas, and themed cocktails on offer for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to pair your drinks with Supergiant’s small bites if you’re feeling peckish!

One of the liveliest Mexican eateries in Sheung Wan, Te Quiero Mucho offers authentic Mexican food in a stunning two-storey location. Happy hour cocktails are available from 3 pm to 7 pm every day with deals on drinks packages for groups of four to six. Ask your server for more details.

Happy hour starts from 3 pm to 8 pm from Monday to Friday and 3 pm to 7 pm on weekends and public holidays.
