Restaurants rise and fall quickly in Hong Kong, running a first come first served model one day and praying for reservations the next. Steering the future of Hong Kong’s top foodie spots is the renowned Michelin Guide, which earlier today announced its latest rankings.
Hong Kong remains home to five three-starred restaurants. Top honours again went to Bo Innovation, L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Lung King Heen, 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo-Bombana, and Sushi Shikon. Notably the popular Duddell’s, The Principal, and Yan Toh Heen rose to two-star status joining 11 other establishments including the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong’s Pierre.
Spoon by Alain Ducasse and Ah Yat Harbour View each lost a star this year joining a total of seven new entries including Akrame, Forum, Kam’s Roast Goose, NUR, Seasons, Sushi Ginza Iwa, and Upper Modern Bistro to round out the 45 one-star winners.
