A new hip hop star has arrived in Hong Kong and his latest music video will have you snorting with laughter. Meet
Kino the pig, brought to you by viral entertainment developer
Kokonuzz and talented American Music Producer
Sean Sinclair.
Following the success of previous viral videos, such as last year's adorable
T8 Penguins and
Are You a True Hong Kongese?, the quirky Koko-nutters, led by illustrator and serial entrepreneur Alexis Bautista, can’t wait to release this funky little rapper into the city.
“I must say, we are very proud of this one,” Bautista told Localiiz. “I personally wrote the lyric for the rap, and with our design team we created the basic animation, sent it to Sean and a few days later he comes back with this amazing song! I was blown away. I can’t wait to work again with him. I have a Bacon Hit in the pipeline that I want to make the new Gangnam Style. It never hurts to dream!”
Always keen to develop their stories, the team created the video to explain the background of the popular porker who left his farm in Spain in the midst of the financial crisis to become a rapping globe trotter (couldn't resist!). Strapped for cash and residing in
Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kino now hopes to make a name for himself in the music industry.
As well as winning over Bautista’s two-year-old daughter, who can already sing-along to the music video, the 'wandering pork' and his Kokonuzz friends secured licensing for clothing from several local companies including Ginger in Laforet, The One, Langham Place, and APM and a magnetic souvenir collection at HKTDC Design Gallery.
With other top-secret projects in the pipeline, the future looks bright for this little piggy and we're certainly big fans. First stop Hong Kong, next stop Hollywood!
