Since its inception in 1993,
Le French May art and cultural festival has been blessing Hong Kong and Macau with a colourful concoction of Eastern and Western artistic collaboration. The 2014 edition will feature the work of more than 50 French and local artists, 30 visual programmes, and more than 170 guided tours and education and outreach events. Organised by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, the festival’s 2014 edition will celebrate the common influences and similarities between France and China - and there are more than you might think! To narrow down the somewhat endless list of offerings, we’ve selected 10 events that we think have that ‘je ne sais quoi’.

Localiiz favourite French Art Gallery
Rouge Ephemere will be taking part in Le French May this year with their Emotional Abstraction exhibition by Jean Soyer. Highly influenced by abstract expressionism, this contemporary master utilises a palette knife and spatula in his process, a technique inspired by Chinese Calligraphy. Fellow French artist Fabienne Verdier, whose work will also be showcased at this year’s festival, had a significant influence on Soyer's style.
