What Is Happiness?
Get on the path to complete happiness with mediation, talks and self-reflection with KMC resident teacher Gen Kelsang Rabten. The Tuesday night classes, running between 7.30pm and 9.00pm, approach how to maintain a happy heart in all circumstances and the value of cherishing others in the search for our own wellbeing. Coming up, Gen will talk about how to recognise kindness, accept yourself, forgive others and find strength in humanity. You only need to offer up a $50-$100 donation to enjoy these Tuesday night chills.
Midday Meditation
If you’re looking for a healthy midday treat for the mind and body on Wednesday, reserve a place at the popular meditation and vegetarian lunch sessions for just $108. These tasty meets start at 12.24pm and run until 1.30pm.
Path To Enlightenment
For an end of the week de-stress, join Gen again on Friday evenings to learn more about the art of Boddhichitta, a concept of maintaining a supreme good heart, thought to be the first step to enlightenment. The classes, which include prayers of world peace, are simultaneously translated into Cantonese, with sessions running between 7.30pm and 9.15pm – same donation as Tuesday nights.
Weekend Retreat
Enjoy a whole weekend of calm, tranquillity and abandonment at the Blissful Journey weekend retreat between April 26th and 28th. Gen will be sharing Buddha’s teaching on the perfection of effort, showing how to maintain an enthusiastic and joyful mind every moment of the day. The programme, which aims to encourage participants to live like a child at play, will be presented in English but simultaneously translated into Cantonese and Mandarin.
Blessing Empowerment and Teachings
KMC will be hosting the East Asian Dharma Celebration with a special weekend exploring Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. Come down to the centre between June 7th and 9th and learn how to step out of conflict and sorrow through the practice of compassion to achieve complete freedom and clarity.
The weekend will begin with teachings of compassion on Friday, culminating on Sunday with attendees receiving empowerments of Avalokiteshvara. Compassion teachings will be in Cantonese and meditations led in English, but translations will be provided. The whole weekend is free, but donations are gratefully received.
