Hong Kong Photographer Among Finalists in International Contest

A photo of Pok Fu Lam Cemetery has been selected as a finalist in an international photo contest run by Smithsonian.com. The photo, taken by Hong Kong photographer Brian Yen, was chosen from over 26,500 submissions taken by photographers in 93 countries. Pok Fu Lam Cemetery Photo by Brian yen There are 10 finalists in the following categories: Natural World, People, Americana, Altered Images, Mobile, and Travel, the category featuring Yen’s photo. Yen recently won US$10,000 for his photo, A Node Glows in the Dark, taken during a trip to Ocean Park. The prize money was awarded for taking home top honours in the ‘People’ category at National Geographic’s international photo contest this past December. The winning photographer will receive a US$500 prize. Voting closes March 30 at 5pm (ET). You can cast your vote once every 24 hours until the deadline. We know who we’ll be voting for!
