Full Sails - A Look at the Traditional Junks from Hong Kong's Past

By Localiiz 17 June 2014
August 8th 2014 Summer rolls on and junk parties are a plenty - but how many of us can say we've spent a day out on a traditional Hong Kong junk? Sadly, the number of these boats still afloat is dwindling, barely seen passing through our harbour anymore. Yet, when one is spotted on the horizon, it's hard not to imagine loading one up with your friends and family for a beautiful day out under full sails. Saffron Cruises owns one of the few remaining red sailed junks, known as the Duk Ling, which many Hong Kongers fight to book for a day out. Fingers crossed it stays around for years to come! So, join us in remembering the majesty that is the Hong Kong junk with these photos. Click through to see them all!
