Doggy Daydream – Give the SPCA’s Long-Stayers a Home at Pet Adoptathon 2014

By Localiiz 2 May 2014
May 2nd 2014 There’s no denying that Hong Kong is dog crazy, but with so many expensive pedigrees pounding the pavements in their specially made booties and jazzy jackets, pooches of less prestigious breeding often get overlooked. Find yourself a pup who really needs some love at this SPCA’s Adoptathon this weekend. The SPCA is on a mission to find suitable families for their “Long Stayers”, who have been living at Hong Kong rescue centres for between five months to a year. Think your home could use a waggy tail and a wet nose? Take a look at the five adorable dogs below and call in to the corresponding centres to meet them on Saturday or Sunday (May 3rd & 4th). Ching Ching – One-Year-Old Mongrel, Male A member of the public rescued the absolutely gorgeous Ching Ching. He was previously fostered by a family but unfortunately ended up back to the SPCA Sai Kung Centre, where he has been for the past six months. He has a gentle and sweet demeanour. Call the Sai Kung Centre on (+852) 2232-5599 to get to know him further. Kama – One-Year-Old Mongrel, Male An energetic, happy and obedient dog, the previously stray Kama has been holed up at the SPCA Kowloon Centre for five months. This adorable doe-eyed pup needs a home! Call the Kowloon Centre on (+852) 2713-9104 to find out more about him. Mung Chu – Eight-Year-Old Mongrel, Male A sweet and mellow dog despite his imposing size, Mung Chu’s previous owner was prosecuted for mistreatment that involved forcing Mung’s muzzle closed with cable ties. This big boy has been living at the SPCA Wan Chai Centre for 10-months now. Call (852+) 2232-5529 to learn more. Monnie – One-Year-Old Sharpei Cross, Female Having been under the care of the SPCA Wan Chai centre for a year since being rescued by an inspector, Monnie needs an active and patient family that can handle her energetic and jumpy personality. A disciplined owner who can make sure she will get a lot of exercise is ideal! Call the Wan Chai Centre on (+852) 2232-5529 to enquire. Jock – Two-Year-Old Mongrel, Male The SPCA rescued Jock after a traffic accident. He was brought to the Wan Chai Centre with broken legs, and later diagnosed with tick fever and distemper. Jock’s a real fighter however, as he’s now fully recovered and is a very healthy and happy dog. All he needs is a good home. Call the Wan Chai Centre on (+852) 2232-5529 if you think you could offer him one. As well as the chance to meet these five beauties and many more pets in need at the Adoptathon, you’ll also be able to swat up on the basics of pet ownership with free seminars on a variety of subjects at the Wan Chai Headquarters. All adopters will also receive a complimentary starter kit to ensure their new friend settles in as quickly as possible. Long walks and tummy rubs await!
