Debut Arnold Classic Asia Festival Hits Hong Kong

It’s time to flex those muscles Hong Kong, because the world’s largest annual multi-sports festival, Arnold Classic Asia, is in Hong Kong this weekend for the very first time.

Five Things to Try  |   Things Not to Miss  |   We'll Be There!

The debut event brings global and local sports stars together for two days of jam-packed fitness fun at AsiaWorld-Expo, with plenty of opportunity for visitors to get in on the action. And of course, the Terminator will be there himself - so keep your eyes peeled! Take a sneak peek at what’s in store below, and we hope to see you there. Visit us at Booth E05 and get your photo taken on the cover of Localiiz's 'Muscle' magazine. Tickets are from $150 for a single day ticket. Weekend tickets $255. Kids under 12  free. What's In Store?

The debut festival will feature unique, non-stop live sports demonstrations, competitions, and interactive workshops in over twenty sports, including arm wrestling, weight-lifting, rugby, cycling, crossfit, martial arts, and even yoga. Those who enjoy problem-solving might want to check out the 'mind sports' section where everything from chess to Rubik’s Cubes will come under the spotlight. chess Visitors of all ages will be invited to try new activities, from aerial sports to krav maga, covering a mix of cardio, strongman, and mind sports. Festival goers will also be able to discover the latest in health and wellness trends, with the chance to engage with over 300 different brands. And it goes without saying that festivals and food go hand in hand in Hong Kong, so keep an eye out for healthy food brands such as Ice n Lean guilt-free desserts, Green Tea X50 natural energy drink, Bad Food Gone Good natural baked goodies, and MOA superfood juice. Need to take a break from pumping iron? Catch all the Olympics action on the large screens dotted around the festival -  you don't want to miss those key moments!

We take a sneaky peak at the five must-try sports to give a go at the festival: sef defenseKrav Maga - Ever wanted to take a self-defense class? Well, now's your chance, as instructor Derek Poon invites you to take part in workshops and demonstrations to learn this Israeli form of martial arts.   S-5treet Workout - Learn how to work out anywhere with body weights and attitude as The World Street Workout and Calishenics Federation bring demonstrations and workshops to your doorstep.   -3EPIC Yoga - Take some relaxing time out and join a large morning class of yoga, hosted by EPIC Yoga's lead instructor Victor Chau and master Hari Sreenuvasan.     -2Crossfit with Reebok Crossfit Asphodel - Work hard, train hard is their motto, and now's your chance to live it! Learn some new skills to bring into your daily grind with the Crossfit pros.   -1Spinning with XYZ - Awaken your senses at the XYZ pop up spin classes running over the weekend. Here are a few festival highlights worth checking out: Hong Kong Jump Rope Open Championship - Who knew a childhood playground game was such a popular global sport? Watch over 80 athletes from over 10 countries take to the ropes to showcase their world-class level skills at the Hong Kong Skipping Federation's Open Championship. World's Strongest Man - On the Saturday witness a World Record Attempt as 4x World's Strongest man Zydrunas "Big Z" Savickas takes on the log lift in the multi-event strongman competition that runs through the day. On Sunday Hong Kong's strong women and men have their turn to muscle it out with log lifts, the Atlas Stones, the truck pull and more. Hong Kong Rugby Union - Cheer for the 16 teams and 240 players as they get stuck into a round of touch rugby matches planned by the Hong Kong Rugby Union. Don't forget to get a 'selfie' with some of the national players while you're there! Chess Tournament - One of Arnold's personal favourites, the chess tournament invites both under 16 and adults to play on a first-come-first-serve basis. Will you have what it takes to impress the judges from the Hong Kong Chess Federation? Checkmate! Table Tennis - It's never too late to learn new tips and tricks. Brush up on your ball and bat skills with a little help from expert coaches from the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association. EPIC Throwdown - It's men versus women in the battle of strength, cardio, gymnastic, and Olympic lifting skills as EPIC invites you to take part in a challenging but fun competition. Who will prove to be the stronger species? There's also a kids competition to look out for. [/su_spoiler]
