Need somewhere to escape the heat (or rain)? Sick of the same old shopping malls and coffee shops? Then you’ll be glad to hear that the acclaimed Japanese digital art flower show, “Flowers by Naked”, will be arriving in Hong Kong this mid-July!
Held at MOSTown in Ma On Shan, “Flowers by Naked” combines the breathtaking beauty of traditional Japanese culture with the power of visual arts and technology. Created by NAKED Inc., one of Japan’s most established creative digital arts company, this dazzling immersive exhibition will also be the first show that has ever been held outside of Japan.
The exhibition will feature eight of the most popular installations from Japan, including Big Book, the main installation and star of the show; OUSAI 2019, where visitors will be surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms; the Tea Room–Harmony of Mind, which showcases the importance of tea in Japanese culture; and 360° Around Mt. Fuji: Naked meets Hokusai, an e-painting display of famous artworks by Katsushika Hokusai.
Much like TeamLab, the world-famous digital art show series from Japan, “Flowers by Naked” is a hugely popular gathering ground for art enthusiasts, budding photographers, and of course, Instagrammers from all over the world. No exact date has been announced yet, but if you can’t wait to get going, you can always look up #flowersbynaked on Instagram for some inspiration on those all-important snaps for the gram! Be sure to check back for updates on when the show will take place.
