Freespace Jazz Fest 2019

Enjoy a weekend of jazz with daytime indoor and outdoor fun at the first-ever Freespace Jazz Fest on 9-10 November. Feel free to dip in and out of the music programmes at the black box theatre in Freespace or relax on the lawn with a picnic while enjoying the jazz vibes. Featured artists include Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra featuring Hubert Laws, Noa Drezner Flamenco Quartet, May Inoue Quartet, Takashi Hirayasu, Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra feat. Elisa Chan, Eugene Pao x Ted Lo x Angelita Li and more. Make sure you head down there early! On Saturday 9 November, special programmes include a free screening of the multiple award-winning music feature documentary “20 Feet from Stardom”; on Sunday 10 November, Hong Kong Ballet presents a jazz-infused outdoor performance of “The Great Gatsby” and a series of exciting site-specific works along the waterfront promenade in the Art Park. Other free programmes include the craft market, meet-the-artists and jam sessions. Meanwhile, jazz connoisseurs can enjoy ticketed headline performances by GoGo Penguin (Saturday afternoon) and the multiple-Grammy-winning Robert Glasper Trio (Sunday afternoon).
