Chopsticks present: Rebirth by Aruta Soup

By Jenny Leung 12 June 2019

Event Information

START DATE 13 Jun 2019
END DATE 17 Jul 2019
26 Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan
Portraying his unique, thought-provoking, and satirical sense of humour through bold paintings and graffiti, Japanese artist Aruta Soup will be holding his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong from June 13 to July 17, at the Lucie Chang Fine Arts gallery. Shining a light on timely issues in each artwork, the exhibition will showcase his latest works that feature various cartoon characters, as viewed from the artist’s own ironic, quirky point of view. If you want to catch a glimpse of the artist yourself, don’t miss out on the live painting session at the gallery on June 15. And if you’re really a fan, be sure to check out some exclusive merch including T-Shirts, stationery, and even toothbrushes!

Senior editor

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, Jenny grew up with the best of both worlds. She loves just about anything to do with music and doesn’t shy away from belting out a tune or two when it comes to karaoke. If she’s not out and about exploring the city and practising her photography skills, she’s probably tucked up in bed with a book or glued to her laptop doing her online shopping.
