Cultured Youth | “Man Ching”
It’s Hong Kong Arts Month, which means it’s time for the cultured youth of Hong Kong to gather in flocks and show up to all the best cultural events around town. From an inspirational walk around an art gallery to sitting down in the theatre for an opera performance, the cultured youth – or ‘man ching’ in Cantonese – is all about living a true artistic lifestyle. Their passions (typically) include reading books, indie music, painting, photography, calligraphy, connecting with nature… you get the picture. To put it in simpler terms, think hipster, but without all the irony.
