It’s that magical time of year again when shopping malls try to out do each other with their grand displays of festive cheer, leaving us spoilt for choice when it comes to entertaining our little ones (and ourselves, let’s be honest). So to help you whittle it down, we’ve rounded up the most magical and spectacular ones around town that are definitely worth checking out with the family.

Snoopy Christmas at Times Square

Definitely one for the little ones, the Christmas with Snoopy display at Times Square is a prime spot for snapping photos with adorable figurines of the famous pooch and his pals, while lapping up the light-up LED Snoopy wall and classic comics on display. While you’re at it, don’t forget to check out the giant floating Snoopy display suspended in the air inside the Times Square mall too.

Hong Kong Pulse Light Show

With a spectacular 3D projection mapping, creative light and sound effects, and a new interactive game, the Hong Kong Pulse Light Show is a dazzling multimedia extravaganza that falls on the façade of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui. Lasting roughly around eight minutes per session, the magical audiovisual show is pretty special and will definitely get you in the holiday spirit.

Snowy Christmas Carnival at Elements

Celebrating 30 years of the classic British animation, The Snowman and The Snowdog, Elements invites you to venture through the air with Billy and his magical creations this Christmas. Featuring light shows, classic winter melodies, storytelling times, and a workshop where you can make your very own snowman lamp, it’s the perfect display for the whole family to enjoy. Don’t forget to register on site for the workshop and storytelling sessions as it’s on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jungle All the Way at PMQ

Welcoming the public for a festive, yet environmental-friendly season, PMQ is presenting a Christmas Jungle by planting 36 trees all made from recycled drink cartons in their courtyard, with various paper-crafted animals lurking around the jungle too. In addition, they’ll also be hosting a bundle of fun activities to encourage a zero-waste lifestyle including creative workshops, family yoga, a Go Cup X PMQ Christmas Zero Market, and a Taste Library where Food Grace will be cooking up delicious foods using donated or unsold food ingredients. If you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate the holidays, this is the place to be.

Christmas Spectacular at Pacific Place

Transforming Pacific Place into a magical theatre, Christmas Spectacular is filling up the mall with festive surprises around every corner. With performances from local companies such as the Hong Kong Ballet, fun candle making and neon light stitching workshops, and a magical appearance by Santa himself, this is one display your little ones (and you) do not want to miss. Walking with Gaudi at Telford Plaza

Top points for originality, Walking with Gaudi is the first-in-Asia exhibition that has collaborated with the world-class Gaudi Museum to offer Hong Kongers a closer look at the renowned architect’s works of art this Christmas. Uniting traditional Christmas elements with Gaudi’s iconic architecture and mosaic designs, the gorgeous display allows visitors to appreciate his work through a series of architectural models and precious collections of his authentic design tools. They will also have a chance to explore his visionary creations through an exciting VR experience.

The Universe in Me: A Christmas Voyage at K11

Take yourself on a Christmas Voyage this season as K11 presents rising contemporary French artist Nicolas Buffe and his mesmerizing artworks. From a 15-feet-tall installation that combines augmented reality technology, with elements of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, to the exhibition at the K11 art space that features a theatrical entrance, zodiac drawings, interactive games, and an in-mall planetarium, we guarantee his works of art are quite literally out of this world.

Christmas in the Air at Harbour City

The Christmas display in Harbour City is one of Hong Kong’s must-see attractions, and this year, it’s inviting everyone to say hello to Captain Santa. Not only will you find three giant brightly lit airships along the Ocean Terminal Forecourt of Harbour City, there will also be a Christmas Balloon House filled with over a hundred helium balloons, where you can capture the joyful moment in a photo by donating $60 to the Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation. Now there’s a treat to lift your spirits this festive season.

Statue Square Christmas Tree

Igloo at The Pulse
