25,000 Glowing Roses to Light Up Hong Kong

There’s nothing quite like an embarrassing display of roses to get you in the mood for Valentine’s Day – so just imagine what 25,000 could do!

Take an evening stroll along Central and Western District Promenade from February 14 and you will find out. A lavish display of 25,000 white LED roses, measuring 70 to 80cm, will light up the harbourfront as the Light Rose Garden art installation comes into full bloom for Valentine’s Day and the Lantern Festival.

Brought to us by creative agency Pancom, the impressive display first appeared in Seoul, Korea in 2014, and will now glow in our city every night from 6pm to 11pm until February 22. The first phase (February 14 to 16) will take place at the Central and Western District Promenade to coincide with Valentine’s Day, before it moves to Tamar Park (February 20 to 22) to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Creators say they hope to make Hong Kong “the most beautiful place in the world” during this romantic time of year, and with the breathtaking view of Victoria Harbour providing the perfect backdrop for the obligatory selfie, we think they may succeed.

Don’t miss your chance to catch the sea of roses before it disappears.

Bloomin’ marvellous!
