I really need to start exercising but I only want to do fun stuff. I'm looking to take up some kind of dance class but don't know where to start. what do you think is the best kind of dance for losing weight? I only want to do a couple of classes a week, so the more physical the better!

Good question. I've done a bit of research on this myself.
The key to weight loss in dancing is constant, high-energy movement using large muscle groups. High-energy, quick-movement dances include salsa, lindy hop, which is a type of swing dance, and ballroom. Zumba is also supposed to be really good!
Okay, thanks so much! I'm not sure if I'm quite graceful enough for ballet. I think I'd feel like one of those hippos in a tutu in Fantasia atm. lol! but I'll look into the other stuff. any recommendations on dance classes in Hong Kong then?
